Is Free really forever?
Yes. The Free tier includes every feature in Datavor — 50 MCP tools, all 7 databases, CDC, scheduler, the web UI — with no time limit. Pro adds a commercial use license and support, not features. If you're a hobbyist, student, or working on open-source, Free is enough.
What counts as "commercial use"?
Any use that generates revenue or supports paid work — running Datavor inside your company, using it on client projects, including it in a paid product, or running it on infrastructure you bill clients for. Personal projects, learning, open-source contributions, and academic research are always Free.
Can I switch from monthly to annual?
Yes. Switch at any time and we'll pro-rate the remainder of your monthly subscription against the annual price. You only pay the difference.
Can I cancel?
Monthly: cancel anytime, no questions. You keep Pro access until the end of your billing period. Annual: refund within 14 days if you change your mind, pro-rated after that.
How does the activation code work?
Each Pro subscription comes with a personal activation code. Run datavor activate <CODE> once and that user's installation is licensed for commercial use. The code is tied to the subscribed user, not a specific machine — install on your laptop, server, and home setup as needed.
My company has 100 developers. Do we need 100 subscriptions?
Yes. Pro is licensed per developer — one subscription per individual using Datavor for commercial work. A 100-developer company needs 100 Pro seats. For 5+ seats, email support@datavor.ai for volume pricing and centralized billing — we'll work out a deal that's cheaper than the list price.
Can I use my Pro license to power an AI agent?
No. Pro is licensed for use by an identified human developer with fair-use limits. Agent workloads — bots, automated pipelines, products you resell, anything that calls Datavor 24/7 without a human at the keyboard — require Agent API keys under the pay-per-call tier. This separation exists because human and agent use have very different cost profiles. Using a Pro license to power production agent traffic violates the license terms and may result in suspension.
I'm building an AI agent that uses Datavor. How does pricing work?
Agent customers use a separate pay-per-tool-call tier (v3.2). Tools are grouped into Light ($0.001/call — list, describe, status), Standard ($0.005/call — query, transform preview, create job), and Heavy ($0.05/call — sync, CDC start, schedule run). $5 free credits to start. Pay with Stripe or USDC on Base. See
agent pricing for the full breakdown.
Do you offer team or enterprise plans?
For 5+ developers, email support@datavor.ai for volume pricing, a single invoice, and a team admin who can manage all seats. For enterprise needs — custom SLAs, on-premise air-gapped deployments, SSO, security review — we'll work out a custom contract.
Will the price go up?
For existing subscribers — no. Your price is locked in for as long as your subscription is active. We may raise prices for new customers as the product matures, but anyone who signs up at $19/mo (or $171/yr) keeps that price forever.
Is there a student or open-source discount?
No discount needed — Free already covers you. Students, academic researchers, and open-source maintainers can use every feature in Datavor for free, forever. If you're publishing OSS or doing research with Datavor and want a shout-out on our site, send us a link and we'll feature it.
Does Pro have any usage limits?
There are generous fair-use limits designed for real human developer workflows — far beyond what anyone would hit working interactively. If you're running scripts, doing daily ETL, exploring databases, or experimenting freely, you won't notice them. Sustained 24/7 traffic at machine speeds (the pattern of an agent, not a developer) will trigger a fair-use review, and we'll point you to the Agent Pricing tier where that workload is properly priced.
